She doesn’t have a lot of experience - she’s written an episode of “Dracula” and has two projects in development, a drama titled “Arsonist’s Love Story” and a TV series titled “Critical” – but she seems super enthusiastic about the project, which is a big plus in my book. But when America Singer is selected, it isn’t quite the dream she hoped for she must turn her back on her secret love with a boy named Aspen and enter the fierce competition for the crown.īut there’s more to Prince Maxon than she thought, and maybe the life she dreamed of can’t compare to what the future has in store.ĭenise DiNovi and Alison Greenspan of DiNovi Pictures’ will produce alongside Pouya Shahbazian.ĭeadline reports that Katie Lovejoy will be the writer to adapt “The Selection” to the big screen.

Ale and mead are mentioned at social occasions, one character acts tipsy once, and main-character Hollis drinks a tankard of ale quickly once when shes under stress. One character mentions shes had multiple miscarriages. In “The Selection,” 35 girls are chosen to compete for the heart of Prince Maxon. Important characters die, so grief and loss are strong themes, mainly toward the end. (The last two books involve descendents of some of the lead characters, and there are other related companion novels.) won the rights to Kiera Cass’ “The Selection,” the first in her five-novel series of the same name. YA fans can celebrate today! Another YA series with a huge fandom is coming to the big screen! I'm actually excited to see it on the big screen, because, of course, MAXON! If someone liked the first two books, I think that they would really enjoy this wrap up of the series. So anyway, if you don't know yet, the news was already out that The Selection will be turned into movie.

I really liked her, she seemed like quite a lady. I didn't see the queen's death coming though, and was upset about that. Too much setup had been laid out for the Aspen reveal not to touch on it, and the king had to die to tie this up nicely. I think that the ending was rushed and a little bit of a cop out, but I saw it coming. I did like her after said unbelievable character change. I think she started out too extreme and had to come too far too fast to make it believable. In The Heir, a new era dawned in the world of The Selection. Prepare to be swept off your feet by The Crownthe eagerly awaited, wonderfully romantic fifth and final book in the Selection series. I did not, however like the 180 Celeste's character pulled. Kiera Casss 1 New York Times bestselling Selection series has captured the hearts of readers from its very first page. Now the end of the journey is here. I also really enjoyed seeing the family dynamic in the Singer household and was genuinely sad when the father died. This book had a feel that danger was right around the corner, but unlike the previous book, it felt important, and worth the risk. Who cares who says I love you first? Page after page of back and forth monologues about how she loves him but can't or won't say it unless he says it first, and then the arguments over who should say it! For Heaven's sake just someone say it and be done with it!Īs far as the political aspect, I thought it was amazing! I liked the way the northern rebels' story line played out and I absolutely loved the scenes with the Italians. The thing that got me though was the childish games that America and Maxon played with each other. I thought of Marlee’s hands and Maxon’s back. The best people all have some kind of scar.

They both held permanent marks of their bravery.

Maxon was selfish and obnoxious dating 3 people at once, although I do know that is the basis for this series. The one by kiera cass theme full Where I used to imagine you as a girl with a bag full of stones, ready to throw them at any foe who crossed her path, you have become the stone itself. I still found the love story plot a bit tired. As I've said in my review of The Elite, I was not a fan of the love triangle. I really liked that the back and forth between Aspen and Maxon came to an end pretty early on. BOOK FOUR OF THE SELECTION TRILOGY Genre: Dystopian Romance Length: 252 pages Published: 2015 My rating: 3/5 Goodreads rating: 4.2/5 Description: I would try to avoid spoilers, but the title of the book kind of beat me to it. This book was not as good as the first one, but much better than the second.
